Hi! My name is Francois Wiss, and I’m passionate about music and teaching. I’ve been playing guitar for over 40 years and sharing my love for music as an educator for nearly three decades. Before moving to the U.S., I spent seven years in France teaching music to more than 2,500 students in middle and primary schools.

My musical journey has taken me across the globe, where I’ve studied under incredible maestros and immersed myself in diverse genres. From Classical and Flamenco to Latin, Brazilian, World Music, French Chanson, and Rock, these influences have shaped my approach to music and teaching. This rich mix allows me to craft classes that are as unique as they are inspiring.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll often find me performing on some of NYC’s most iconic stages, including the Blue Note, Cafe Wha, The City Winery, and many more, as well as local venues that celebrate the vibrant music scene in our community.

I’ve lived in Park Slope for the past 11 years, and as a local dad whose son attends PS 321, I feel deeply connected to this neighborhood. My greatest joy is inspiring young musicians to unlock their potential, develop confidence, and fall in love with the guitar. I’m excited to share this journey with your child!
